Stephanie Robertson

Stephanie Robertson has actively practiced law in the specialized areas of banking law and civil litigation for over 18 years. Ms. Robertson joined Groom Law Firm in 2009 with the objective to ultimately lead the firm’s Estate Planning division. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Robertson worked for a mortgage banking law firm in Washington State supervising their evictions department, as well as training and overseeing the firm’s paralegals and legal assistants. In addition, Ms. Robertson managed the firm’s surplus funds department, where she was responsible for independently handling surplus fund deposits and requests. Ultimately, Ms. Robertson transitioned to the Civil Litigation Department and was responsible for independently managing a large case load of contested matters.
Stephanie’s Robertson’s professional experience includes:

Drafting a motion that resulted in an almost $100,000 judgment in that firm's favor, the first of its kind in that particular area of practice

Independently managing a large case load, as well as supervising, training and developing departmental staff

Working at a criminal defense firm and being involved in a high profile juvenile murder case where she was given the opportunity to draft portions of an appellate brief

Serving as Attorney in the Juvenile Public Defender’s Office in Austin TX

Researching legal issues, drafting memoranda, filing documents at court and cataloging evidence of arrests, drafting documents, working with case workers, and negotiating plea bargains with prosecuting attorneys

Serving as a Law Clerk for the Texas Trial Lawyers Association
